Job Overview:

 

We Care International is a dedicated not-for-profit charitable organization committed to improving the lives of vulnerable communities through impactful programs and initiatives. We seek a skilled and proactive IT Analyst (Volunteer) to support the IT Director and team in managing and optimizing our IT systems and infrastructure. This volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful causes while gaining valuable experience in IT management within the nonprofit sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. System Administration and Support:
  • Assist in managing and maintaining the organization’s IT systems, including servers, networks, and applications.
  • Provide technical support to staff, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of IT support tickets.

 

  1. Network Management:
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Assist in configuring and managing network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Perform regular network performance tests and implement improvements as needed.

 

  1. Data Management and Security:
  • Assist in the implementation and management of data backup and recovery solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing and maintaining appropriate security measures.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.

 

  1. Software and Application Support:
  • Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of software applications used by the organization.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting new software solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Provide training and support to staff on the use of software applications.

 

  1. IT Infrastructure Projects:
  • Assist in the planning and executing of IT infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Document project plans, progress, and outcomes.

 

  1. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
  • Assist in managing relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
  • Coordinate with vendors to procure, install, and maintain IT equipment and services.
  • Ensure compliance with vendor contracts and service level agreements.

 

  1. IT Policy and Compliance:
  • Assist in developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure IT systems and processes are compliant.

 

  1. Training and Capacity Building:
  • Provide training and support to staff on IT systems, applications, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and documentation.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization.

 

  1. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in IT systems and processes.
  • Propose and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT services.

 

  1. Collaboration and Team Support:
  • Work closely with the IT Director and team to support the IT strategy and goals.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing updates on projects and support activities.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment within the IT team.

 

  1. Other Duties:
  • Perform other IT-related tasks and special projects as the IT Director assigns.
  • Continuously seek to improve IT processes and services to support the organization’s mission better.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT support or analyst role, preferably within an NGO or charity organization.
  • Proficiency in managing and supporting IT systems, including servers, networks, and applications.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Experience with data management and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard IT management tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

 

  • Hybrid position, with occasional travel to event/project sites as required.
  • Flexible working hours to accommodate volunteer availability.
  • May require working additional hours during peak periods (event preparations, program and event executions) or to meet deadlines.
